Jack

Some dogs come into your life.
Others walk beside you through it.

Jack was the latter.

He was there at the beginning when SAGmonkey® was still just an idea fueled by grit, instinct, and a willingness to say yes to adventure. He rode shotgun on long drives, waited patiently at trailheads, wandered unfamiliar towns, and showed up for every version of me that existed along the way. Wherever we were going, Jack was already there, tail wagging, ready.

He didn’t just witness the journey, he belonged to it.

Jack did epic shit. Not the loud kind. The quiet, loyal, unwavering kind. He taught me about presence long before I had language for it. About devotion without conditions. About how to move through the world with curiosity, courage, and an open heart. In the years I couldn’t be there, my heart never left him. You were never forgotten, Jack. Not for a single moment. I’m sorry I couldn’t walk beside you at the end. That grief is real. And it’s held alongside the truth that love doesn’t disappear with distance or time.

Love remembers. Love waits. Love endures.

You were always mine.
And I was always yours.

Thank you for loving me and letting me love you. Thank you for your patience, your joy, your steadiness, and your spirit. Thank you for helping me build a life rooted in movement, care, and adventure.

Run free now, no leashes, no limits, just wide open spaces and all the time in the world.

Rest easy, good boy. You earned it.
